Managed security services
Managed security services in Zimbabwe
In Harare, corporate offices and banks are concentrated in the CBD, while retail and newer office developments are in the northern suburbs, including Sam Levy’s Village in Borrowdale, Avondale and Westgate. Bulawayo is the second commercial centre, and Victoria Falls is the country’s main tourism destination.
Security considerations in Zimbabwe
Programs in Zimbabwe usually centre on Harare, with additional sites in Bulawayo, Victoria Falls or Mutare. A managed program applies the same Post Orders, supervision and reporting format at every site and coordinates with shopping centre and building security. English is the main business language, and Shona and Ndebele are widely spoken.
Tourism in Victoria Falls is busiest in the dry season, and retail traffic rises over the December holidays. Coverage plans should include relief officers, seasonal reinforcement, clear opening and closing procedures and contingency steps for power interruptions affecting lighting, alarms and access control.
