Security Services in the Caribbean

Luxury retail in the Caribbean is concentrated in duty-free shopping streets near cruise piers, resort shopping villages and marina developments, with jewelry and watch sales accounting for much of the high-value business. Tourism, hospitality, financial services and villa rentals support most island economies, and many brands operate stores on several islands at once.

Security Considerations in the Caribbean

Outside Puerto Rico, MGP delivers coverage through the MGP Global Partner Program. MGP manages the program, including Post Orders, supervision, reporting and one standard of conduct, while officers are supplied by vetted, locally licensed security companies on each island. This lets brands with stores in several territories apply the same expectations everywhere while respecting local employment and security laws, which differ from island to island.

Hurricane season runs from June through November and affects every island in the region. Retailers and resorts need storm preparation plans, clear procedures for closing and securing stores, and coverage that resumes as soon as conditions allow. Travel between islands usually means a flight, so supervision and site visits are planned in advance. Spanish, French, Dutch and English are all in daily use across the region.
