Managed security services
Managed security services in Bermuda
In Bermuda, retail is concentrated on Front Street, Reid Street and Queen Street in the City of Hamilton, which is also home to the island’s insurance, reinsurance and financial services offices. Cruise visitors arrive mainly at the Royal Naval Dockyard, and the Town of St. George’s draws heritage tourism at the eastern end of the island.
Security considerations in Bermuda
A program in Bermuda often combines street-front stores and shopping arcades in Hamilton, reception and lobby posts in office buildings, and seasonal retail at the Royal Naval Dockyard and St. George’s. Officers must be licensed individually, so relief officers and event staff also need to hold a current licence before they are scheduled. English is the working language, and front-of-house posts in corporate buildings call for a formal service standard.
The busy season runs from spring to autumn, when cruise ships call at Dockyard several times a week and retail traffic in Hamilton rises. The hurricane season from June to November requires storm preparation plans, and large events such as Cup Match in summer change traffic and staffing needs across the island. Coverage plans should include relief officers, seasonal reinforcement and coordination with building management at each site.
