Illinois Licensing

Illinois security contractor agencies are licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Fire Watch Rules in Chicago

• In Chicago, managers of conventions, exhibitions and trade shows must provide fire guards licensed by the Chicago Fire Department Bureau of Fire Prevention: one per 25,000 square feet of exhibit area while the show is open and one per 50,000 square feet while it is closed. Source
• Chicago fire guard applicants must be at least 18 and pass the Bureau of Fire Prevention written exam with a score of at least 70%. The fire guard license is valid for one year. Source

Yes. Armed posts are staffed by retired law enforcement officers who hold the armed licensing Illinois requires, and are assigned after a review of the site’s risk, lease and insurance requirements. For luxury boutiques, MGP generally recommends unarmed officers focused on deterrence and client service.

Rates depend on the officer classification, armed or unarmed status, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
