MGP holds Georgia security license number PSC002437. Every officer assigned in Georgia meets the training and registration requirements that apply there before starting a post.

Security Officer Requirements in Georgia

  • Georgia security officers are registered under the rules of the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies. Security employees need at least 24 hours of classroom instruction, effective January 1, 2022, completed before providing services (Rule 509-3-.02). Source
  • Armed officers in Georgia need at least 15 hours of handgun training from a Board licensed firearms instructor, including 8 hours of range qualification instruction, and must score 80% on both the written and range tests (Rule 509-3-.10). Source
  • Registered security employees in Georgia must complete 8 hours of continuing education before renewal (Rule 509-3-.12). Source
