Security Officer Requirements in Minnesota

  • Minnesota protective agents are regulated by the Board of Private Detective and Protective Agent Services. Employees must complete 12 hours of preassignment or on-the-job certified training within the first 21 days of employment (Minn. Stat. 326.3361). Source
  • Minnesota requires 6 hours of certified continuing training each year, and armed personnel must complete 6 more hours a year, including annual certification. Source
