Security Services in Idaho

Idaho has been one of the fastest-growing states in the country, with the Treasure Valley around Boise adding technology, manufacturing, healthcare and new retail. Outside the metro, resort and lake communities such as Sun Valley and Coeur d’Alene support high-end residences, hospitality and seasonal retail.

Security Considerations in Idaho

Idaho’s main business areas are far apart. Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls and Sun Valley are separated by long drives and mountain routes, and some trips cross into neighboring states. Clients with several sites need a provider that plans supervision visits carefully, keeps reporting consistent and maintains a local roster of trained officers in each area.

Resort and lake communities have strong summer and ski seasons and quieter months in between, and second homes need patrols and property checks while owners are away. Winter snow, ice and valley fog affect commutes and shift changes across the state, so standby officers and clear instructions for delayed relief are part of a reliable program.

Markets Served in Idaho

Coverage also extends to Coeur d’Alene, Sun Valley and Ketchum, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls and Pocatello.

Services Available

Services in Idaho include luxury retail asset protection, retail security officers, concierge and lobby security, commercial building security, special event security, executive protection support and fire watch. Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.

Screening, Training and Supervision

Officers complete a five-stage screening process and tier-based training before assignment, including de-escalation and, for retail posts, organized retail crime recognition. Supervisors make unannounced site visits, and the MGP Operations Desk answers 24/7/365. Incidents are documented on scene, time-stamped and GPS-verified.

Idaho Licensing

Idaho does not license security companies at the state level, and some cities set their own requirements. McCray Global Protection holds City of Boise license 075693L. Elsewhere in Idaho, McCray Global Protection operates under the MGP Hybrid Operating Model, with officers supplied by vetted, licensed local partners and the program managed by MGP.

How is security guard coverage priced?

Rates depend on the officer classification, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
