Canada

MGP has operated in Canada since 2020 through McCray Global Protection Canada ULC, with leadership based in Canada, and serves clients in every province. The company holds security licenses in Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec, with license numbers published on the Canadian licenses page. Coverage in other provinces is delivered through vetted local partners licensed under each province’s rules.

Toronto

Canada’s largest luxury market, centred on Bloor-Yorkville and Yorkdale Shopping Centre, along with CF Toronto Eaton Centre and CF Sherway Gardens. Stores carry high-value inventory and serve visitors from around the world.

Vancouver

Luxury retail is concentrated on Alberni Street and nearby Robson Street, with CF Pacific Centre and Metropolis at Metrotown as the main centres. Officers serve a large international clientele.

Montreal

Luxury retail centres on the Golden Square Mile, rue Sainte-Catherine and Royalmount. Client-facing staff in Quebec are generally expected to serve customers in French, so language skills are part of every staffing plan for the province.

Calgary and Edmonton

Main destinations include CF Chinook Centre and The CORE in Calgary, and West Edmonton Mall and Southgate Centre in Edmonton. Corporate towers in both cities also need dependable lobby and access control coverage.

Security licensing in Canada is set by each province. For example, Ontario licenses security guards under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005; British Columbia under the Security Services Act; Quebec through the Bureau de la sécurité privée; and Alberta under the Security Services and Investigators Act.

Europe

United Kingdom and Ireland

United Kingdom

MGP operates in the United Kingdom through McCray Global Protection UK Limited, supporting luxury and international retailers in the country’s main shopping destinations.

London

Key districts include New Bond Street and Old Bond Street, Sloane Street, Knightsbridge, Mount Street in Mayfair, Regent Street, Covent Garden and Westfield London, along with Bicester Village outside the city. Officers protect employees as well as merchandise and follow each brand’s policy on intervention.

Manchester

Retail is centred on King Street, Spinningfields and the Trafford Centre, with a mix of luxury, department store and high-street brands.

Edinburgh

Luxury retail is concentrated around Multrees Walk, St Andrew Square and George Street.

Security guarding in the United Kingdom is regulated by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, and front-line officers must hold the correct SIA licence for their role. Larger venues and events should also be aware of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, known as Martyn’s Law, which introduces new preparedness duties for qualifying premises and events.

Ireland

MGP supports retailers in Ireland’s main shopping districts.

Dublin

Grafton Street, Henry Street and Dundrum Town Centre, with Kildare Village nearby. Grafton Street and Kildare Village carry a high concentration of luxury brands and heavy tourist traffic.

Cork

St Patrick’s Street and the surrounding city-centre retail district.

The private security industry in Ireland is regulated by the Private Security Authority (PSA), which licenses security contractors and individual security staff.

How International Programs Are Managed

  • Each program has an assigned MGP account team and an executive sponsor with direct access to company leadership.
  • Officers in every country are screened and trained to the same MGP standards, adapted to local law.
  • Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.
  • Incident reports follow the same format in every country, so loss prevention teams can compare data across markets.
  • The Operations Desk answers 24/7/365, and calls reach a live person in English or Spanish.

Programs run with MGP-employed officers where the company has an internal presence and vetted local affiliate partners elsewhere. Affiliates are contracted through MGP and held to the same screening, training, insurance and reporting standards.

Industry Standing

McCray Global Protection is a member of the National Retail Federation (NRF) and the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), a donor to the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) and a sponsor of Loss Prevention Magazine (LPM). Craig J. McCray, President and Chief Executive Officer, is an individual member of ASIS International and spoke at NRF PROTECT 2026.

Hybrid Delivery Model

MGP delivers coverage through a hybrid model. In licensed markets, MGP Direct means MGP recruits, employs and supervises its own officers. Elsewhere, MGP Managed Partner means MGP manages vetted, locally licensed partners. In every market, clients have local, hands-on supervision. See The MGP Hybrid Operating Model.
