Security Services in Montana

Montana’s economy combines agriculture, energy, healthcare and a growing tourism and outdoor recreation sector. Bozeman, Missoula and Billings hold most of the state’s retail and office activity, while Big Sky and Whitefish have become destinations for luxury residences, private clubs and resort retail.

Security Considerations in Montana

Distance is the defining factor for security in Montana. Cities are hundreds of miles apart, and many residential and ranch properties sit well outside town. Providers need supervisors who can cover long routes, officers based close to each site and patrol schedules that account for driving time, limited cell coverage and wildlife on rural roads.

Resort areas and second homes need a quiet, discreet presence, regular property checks while owners are away and added coverage for private events during summer and ski season. Winter weather can close passes and slow travel for days at a time, so standby staffing, clear shelter instructions and backup communication methods are essential for any Montana program.

Services Available

Services in Montana include luxury retail asset protection, retail security officers, concierge and lobby security, commercial building security, special event security, executive protection support and fire watch. Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.

Screening, Training and Supervision

Officers complete a five-stage screening process and tier-based training before assignment, including de-escalation and, for retail posts, organized retail crime recognition. Supervisors make unannounced site visits, and the MGP Operations Desk answers 24/7/365. Incidents are documented on scene, time-stamped and GPS-verified.

Montana Licensing

In Montana, McCray Global Protection operates under the MGP Hybrid Operating Model. Officers are supplied by vetted local partners who hold the licenses required by the state and local jurisdiction, and MGP manages the program: screening and training standards, supervision, Post Orders, reporting and account management.

How is security guard coverage priced?

Rates depend on the officer classification, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
