Security Services in Connecticut

Connecticut combines some of the country’s most affluent shopping towns in Fairfield County with a large insurance and financial services base in Hartford. Retail is spread across town centers, regional malls and shoreline destinations, connected by Interstate 95, Interstate 84 and Interstate 91.

Security Considerations in Connecticut

Much of Connecticut’s high-end retail is located on village main streets rather than inside enclosed malls. These stores depend on their own door coverage and closing procedures, and they benefit from officers who present well and understand the expectations of a discerning clientele. Coordination with local police departments, which vary from town to town, is part of the job.

Highway traffic, commuter rail schedules and winter storms affect staffing statewide. A provider working across Connecticut should keep teams based in each region, plan relief around rush hours on Interstate 95 and Interstate 84, and prepare for seasonal surges along the shoreline in summer and at shopping centers during the holidays.

Markets Served in Connecticut

Coverage also extends to New Haven, Waterbury, New London, Mystic, Middletown and Norwich.

Services Available

Services in Connecticut include luxury retail asset protection, retail security officers, concierge and lobby security, commercial building security, special event security, executive protection support and fire watch. Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.

Screening, Training and Supervision

Officers complete a five-stage screening process and tier-based training before assignment, including de-escalation and, for retail posts, organized retail crime recognition. Supervisors make unannounced site visits, and the MGP Operations Desk answers 24/7/365. Incidents are documented on scene, time-stamped and GPS-verified.

Connecticut Licensing

In Connecticut, McCray Global Protection operates under the MGP Hybrid Operating Model. Officers are supplied by vetted local partners who hold the licenses required by the state and local jurisdiction, and MGP manages the program: screening and training standards, supervision, Post Orders, reporting and account management.

How is security guard coverage priced?

Rates depend on the officer classification, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
