Security Services in Delaware

Delaware’s corporate and banking sector is concentrated in Wilmington, while Dover serves as the state capital. The absence of a sales tax makes the state’s malls and outlets a draw for shoppers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland, and the southern beach towns support a strong summer retail season.

Security Considerations in Delaware

Tax-free shopping brings steady regional traffic to stores in northern Delaware and to the coastal outlets. Retailers need officers who can handle busy weekends and holidays, coordinate with property management, and maintain consistent procedures at entrances, fitting rooms and loading areas, since shoppers arrive from three neighboring states throughout the year.

Delaware’s sites range from downtown office towers to beach town storefronts that are busy only part of the year. A provider should offer professional, detail-oriented lobby coverage for financial and legal tenants while keeping flexible seasonal staffing for coastal clients, along with plans for coastal storms and summer traffic on Route 1.

Markets Served in Delaware

Coverage also extends to Newark, Dover, Middletown, Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach.

Services Available

Services in Delaware include luxury retail asset protection, retail security officers, concierge and lobby security, commercial building security, special event security, executive protection support and fire watch. Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.

Screening, Training and Supervision

Officers complete a five-stage screening process and tier-based training before assignment, including de-escalation and, for retail posts, organized retail crime recognition. Supervisors make unannounced site visits, and the MGP Operations Desk answers 24/7/365. Incidents are documented on scene, time-stamped and GPS-verified.

Delaware Licensing

In Delaware, McCray Global Protection operates under the MGP Hybrid Operating Model. Officers are supplied by vetted local partners who hold the licenses required by the state and local jurisdiction, and MGP manages the program: screening and training standards, supervision, Post Orders, reporting and account management.

How is security guard coverage priced?

Rates depend on the officer classification, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
