Security Services in Kentucky

Kentucky’s retail and business activity is centered in Louisville and Lexington, with additional retail and employment centers in Northern Kentucky, Bowling Green and the western part of the state. The economy draws on logistics, automotive manufacturing, healthcare, bourbon production and the horse industry.

Security Considerations in Kentucky

Kentucky’s calendar includes some of the largest recurring events in the region, from the Kentucky Derby in Louisville to the Keeneland race meets and University of Kentucky sports in Lexington. Businesses need coverage booked well ahead for those weeks, along with officers who can staff private events while regular posts stay covered.

The state sits at the center of a major distribution network, with air cargo, interstate and river access supporting a large base of warehouses and plants. These clients need gate and dock officers, vehicle checks and overnight patrol. Winter ice, spring storms and river flooding can affect travel, so relief staffing must be planned carefully.

Markets Served in Kentucky

Coverage also extends to Bowling Green, Covington, Florence, Owensboro, Paducah and Elizabethtown.

Services Available

Services in Kentucky include luxury retail asset protection, retail security officers, concierge and lobby security, commercial building security, special event security, executive protection support and fire watch. Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.

Screening, Training and Supervision

Officers complete a five-stage screening process and tier-based training before assignment, including de-escalation and, for retail posts, organized retail crime recognition. Supervisors make unannounced site visits, and the MGP Operations Desk answers 24/7/365. Incidents are documented on scene, time-stamped and GPS-verified.

Kentucky Licensing

In Kentucky, McCray Global Protection operates under the MGP Hybrid Operating Model. Officers are supplied by vetted local partners who hold the licenses required by the state and local jurisdiction, and MGP manages the program: screening and training standards, supervision, Post Orders, reporting and account management.

How is security guard coverage priced?

Rates depend on the officer classification, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
