Security Considerations in Northern New Jersey
The Mall at Short Hills is one of the strongest luxury shopping centers in the region, and Paramus is one of the busiest retail areas in the country. Stores in both need officers who can work alongside mall security and respond to coordinated theft quickly.
Many Northern New Jersey retailers also operate in Manhattan. A provider licensed on both sides of the Hudson can keep screening, supervision and reporting consistent across every store, with Post Orders written for each location.

Common Questions
Are armed officers available in Northern New Jersey?
Yes. Armed posts are staffed by retired law enforcement officers who hold the armed licensing New Jersey requires, and are assigned after a review of the site’s risk, lease and insurance requirements. For luxury boutiques, MGP generally recommends unarmed officers focused on deterrence and client service.
How is security guard coverage priced?
Rates depend on the officer classification, armed or unarmed status, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
