Security Services in South Carolina
South Carolina’s retail landscape runs from the historic shopping streets of Charleston and the resort communities of the coast to growing suburban centers in the Midlands and the Upstate. The state also has a large manufacturing and logistics base, including automotive and aerospace plants and one of the busiest ports on the East Coast.
Security Considerations in South Carolina
South Carolina’s coastline drives strong seasonal swings in retail and hospitality. Resort areas from Myrtle Beach to Hilton Head see heavy summer and holiday traffic, while Charleston stays busy through most of the year. Businesses on the coast need coverage that scales with the season and plans for securing sites before and after Atlantic hurricanes.
Inland, the Upstate and Midlands carry a large base of manufacturing plants, distribution centers and corporate offices along the I-85 and I-26 corridors. These clients need gate and lobby staffing, visitor and contractor control and shift-based patrol. Sites are often far apart, so scheduling and supervision need to account for long drives between posts.
Markets Served in South Carolina
Coverage also extends to Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Island, Spartanburg, Rock Hill and Bluffton.
Services Available
Services in South Carolina include luxury retail asset protection, retail security officers, concierge and lobby security, commercial building security, special event security, executive protection support and fire watch. Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.
Screening, Training and Supervision
Officers complete a five-stage screening process and tier-based training before assignment, including de-escalation and, for retail posts, organized retail crime recognition. Supervisors make unannounced site visits, and the MGP Operations Desk answers 24/7/365. Incidents are documented on scene, time-stamped and GPS-verified.
South Carolina Licensing
In South Carolina, McCray Global Protection operates under the MGP Hybrid Operating Model. Officers are supplied by vetted local partners who hold the licenses required by the state and local jurisdiction, and MGP manages the program: screening and training standards, supervision, Post Orders, reporting and account management.
How is security guard coverage priced?
Rates depend on the officer classification, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
