Security Considerations in Bridgetown and the West Coast
Cruise ships berth at the Bridgetown deep water harbor through the winter season, and passengers reach Broad Street by taxi or a short walk. Jewelers and watch retailers there need officers on the door during ship hours and steady coverage on local shopping days. Retail inside the cruise terminal also follows port security rules that officers must know.
The West Coast attracts long-stay winter visitors, villa owners and yacht crews, many from the United Kingdom and North America. Boutiques at Limegrove and residences at the marinas need officers who are discreet and familiar with the guest lists, deliveries and service staff that come with high-end properties, and who keep owner details confidential.
MGP manages the program, including Post Orders, supervision and reporting, while vetted local security companies supply officers. Barbados lies east of the main island chain, yet hurricane season from June to November still requires storm plans, shutters and backup power for every site. Supervisors also plan for the long weekend crowds of the summer Crop Over festival.
