Security for Film and TV Production, Fashion Week, Showrooms and Live Events

MGP secures sets, backstage areas, showrooms and event venues with officers who work to production schedules, manage credentials and stay low profile around talent and guests.

Built Around the Production Schedule

Productions and events run on call times, load-ins, company moves and wraps, and security has to move with them. MGP coordinates with the production manager, location manager or event producer before each phase, so officers are posted when equipment arrives, when talent is on site and when the location is locked up.

MGP’s work in luxury retail asset protection applies directly here. Officers protect high-value merchandise, samples and equipment while remaining courteous and unobtrusive around talent, guests and the public.

Film and Television Production

On location, MGP protects the set perimeter, basecamp and holding areas, holds lockups while cameras are rolling, and provides overnight watch of trucks, trailers, wardrobe and camera packages. Officers help keep the production within the conditions of its location agreements and permits as directed by the location manager, including keeping access points and sidewalks clear where required.

  • Set perimeter and lockup support coordinated with the assistant directors
  • Basecamp, unit base and parking area security
  • Overnight and weekend equipment watch
  • Access control for crew, cast and approved visitors
  • Off-duty law enforcement for traffic or street conditions where local rules allow

Fashion Week and Runway Shows

Runway shows compress guests, press, models, stylists and production crew into a short window. MGP officers verify credentials and guest lists at front of house, control backstage and hair and makeup areas, and protect garments, accessories and jewelry from arrival through the post-show pack-out.

Officers are briefed on the house’s photography and press rules and limit backstage access to approved credentials.

Showrooms and Market Weeks

During market weeks and press days, showrooms hold unreleased collections and samples that are valuable before they ever reach a store. MGP provides appointment-based access control, visitor sign-in, sample room monitoring and open and close procedures, following each brand’s confidentiality requirements.

Officers can also support sample movement between studios, showrooms and shoots when that scope is agreed in writing, recording each handoff in their PostControl shift reports.

Live Events and Venues

For concerts, launches, activations and private events, MGP provides ingress screening, bag checks, credential control, stage and VIP area security and crowd management. Officers are briefed on the venue’s occupancy limits, egress routes and accessible routes, which venues manage under the local fire code, commonly based on NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and the ADA, along with the event’s emergency plan.

Where an event runs a command post or the venue has its own security operations center, MGP officers take direction through that structure. MGP also integrates officers with the client’s GSOC or a monitoring partner’s operations center when the event calls for it. Every post works from digital post orders, and incident and shift reports are filed in PostControl for the producer’s records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can MGP provide security on short notice for a shoot or event?

MGP can often staff short-notice requests through its own officers and vetted partners. Availability depends on the market, the date and the number of officers needed, so MGP confirms coverage before booking.

Do your officers sign confidentiality agreements?

MGP can incorporate a client’s confidentiality requirements into the engagement and brief officers on photography, social media and disclosure restrictions before each assignment.

Can you work alongside a talent’s personal protection team?

Yes. MGP officers coordinate with personal protection details on movements, entrances and holding areas, and MGP offers executive protection support where the client needs it.

Do you provide crowd management for live events?

Yes. MGP provides ingress screening, credential control and crowd management staff, and briefs officers on the venue’s occupancy, egress and emergency procedures before doors open.

Can off-duty police officers be assigned to a production?

Where local rules permit, MGP can arrange Tier IV Off-Duty Law Enforcement officers for traffic, street closures or higher risk locations. Eligibility and approval depend on the local police department and the production’s permits.
