Security Services in Utah

Utah’s economy has grown steadily on finance, technology, healthcare and outdoor products, with most activity along the Wasatch Front from Ogden through Salt Lake City to Provo. Park City and the state’s southern destinations add resort retail, hospitality and second homes that follow tourism seasons.

Security Considerations in Utah

Growth along the Wasatch Front has brought new office campuses, residential buildings and shopping centers, many opening on tight schedules. Clients need a provider that can stand up new posts quickly with clear site instructions and trained officers. Technology and corporate tenants in particular need consistent access control, visitor management and after-hours checks.

Winter conditions affect travel in the canyons and on the routes to resort towns, so staffing plans should include standby officers and clear rules for delayed relief. Southern Utah locations such as St. George sit several hours from Salt Lake City and see summer heat, which calls for separate supervision schedules and planning for officers on exterior posts.

Services Available

Services in Utah include luxury retail asset protection, retail security officers, concierge and lobby security, commercial building security, special event security, executive protection support and fire watch. Post Orders are written for each location around its layout, hours and risk.

Screening, Training and Supervision

Officers complete a five-stage screening process and tier-based training before assignment, including de-escalation and, for retail posts, organized retail crime recognition. Supervisors make unannounced site visits, and the MGP Operations Desk answers 24/7/365. Incidents are documented on scene, time-stamped and GPS-verified.

Utah Licensing

In Utah, McCray Global Protection operates under the MGP Hybrid Operating Model. Officers are supplied by vetted local partners who hold the licenses required by the state and local jurisdiction, and MGP manages the program: screening and training standards, supervision, Post Orders, reporting and account management.

How is security guard coverage priced?

Rates depend on the officer classification, hours, schedule and site requirements. MGP provides a written rate schedule after reviewing your needs. Holiday, overnight and short-notice coverage is billed at a premium rate.
